Hello all- I am a large-size woman and thought I'd mention what has helped bring me peace in my life, and that is taking the emphasis OFF of food. This has not been a natural transition as many of us have grown up being told that we need to lose weight, need to eat "right," need to exercise, etc. and we've responded by dieting, etc.. What I have found is that if I stop trying to change myself and tune into my natural, internal hunger cues, I will eat what I need and when I need it. I know, this sounds crazy! But for me it has resolved an internal battle that waged within me for a my entire life. Let me say, this has not made me thin and that's the point: I am my natural weight, about 235 lbs, which is where my body "wants" to be. I no longer allow myself to get past moderately hungry without nourishing myself, and I no longer overeat because I feel pretty much satisfied all the time. Just thought I'd throw this in.
