Exercise motivation OTHER than weight loss?

Hi folks, I've been into exercise for many years, but now it no longer is keeping my weight down so well (for a number of reasons, none of which I can do much about). All this time, weight maintenance was probably my greatest motivator, so now I'm looking for other reasons to keep myself getting out there. Plus, I really, really want to let go of this need to look a certain way, weigh a certain number, and so forth - that need (or fear) has led to compulsive behavior like forcing myself to do at least 5 hours of aerobics per week when there are a number of other things I'd rather spend some of that time doing (like going to my meditation center a couple of mornings instead of the gym, or spending more time with friends). What are some messages I can give myself to help me be healthier around all this? In some strange sense, I suspect this recent weight gain might actually be a gift for me, a message to move on to a new way of life. Thanks for all the encouraging words on this board!
