I think you make some good points.
When I was in high school, I thought I "didn't have any friends" because of being fat. There were nice kids in my class who wanted to be my friends, but I didn't have very good social skills. I now weigh about 50 pounds more than what I weighed in high school, and I have friends.
I doubt that it will help to have a formal governing board to outlaw fat discrimination. People are usually very resistant if their prejudices are "against the rules." They call it "politically correct" and insist that's not how things really are. I don't know how to make the necessary changes in the way people think, but I doubt that making it formal official policy will work.
Tuani, thanks for writing about body fat comments, because many of us were psychologically damaged by these comments when we were not even that fat yet. You expressed your ideas in an intelligent and well-organized manner. You are so right that fat people should be allowed to participate in sports. You are so right that people need to know there are numerous body types which are attractive to other people.
If a guy wants to date fat gals, he shouldn't be ashamed of that. Fat girls might want to go out with him, if he makes them feel good about who they are. I once met a man who was a "fat admirer." He brought a camera to a party to take pictures of fat women. He tried to cover his attraction to fat women by making fun of them. It was sad. He couldn't admit he likes the way fat women look, and it ruined his personality.
