Hi Eric, I think everyone struggles with this! The best thing I can think of is that you should try to hold yourself dear -- think about what your body does for you! It's truly a marvelous machine and you should cherish all the things that it does RIGHT! Treat yourself well and treat your partner well and that will help to bridge the areas that you feel weak in.
I was an art major in college, and I did a lot of life drawing. That means I've seen lots of naked folks! Many of the models we would draw were just that; models, and they were so self-conscious and so proud and so shallow! Every now and then we would get a marvellous real body to draw with all it's honesty and beauty and power. There is so much more heart and life and reality in those drawings, and I think it was because those people were more invested in living their lives than in looking like they were one perfect way. There's richness and beauty in diversity!
Take your partner on a walk and hold hands and be happy for each other and the power to move and care for each other. You can choose to reorient your perspective and that really should help.
