I began to feel bad about my weight around the age of 13... I'm of European descent, I've never been skinny but I wouldn't classify myself as 'fat' either. But it seems that every time I get on a scale I get into these ruts where I feel I don't deserve to eat. I've been on so many 'crash diets' throughout the years. Actually, I'm on one right now. Heh. Anyways, I read your post and I can really identify with how mean parents can be...my mother has always been concerned with her own weight that, now that i look back,she'd put me and my sisters down because she felt bad about the way she looks. I remember when I was 15 my dad was convinced the neighbors would look at me funny when I went outside in the summer in a tank top and shorts--he thought I was 'too fat' to be wearing that kind of thing, and he even suggested I enroll at "Fat Camp" for the summer...the worst thing about this is, I never heard him say this, my mother told me, and couldn't understand why it offended me. Heh. Well sorry to ramble on, I just thought it was appropriate to share. Take Care all. -Leela
